Some have not stopped fast enough! The state of california's highway engineers (read idiots) redesigned and moved the north bound Grapevine Runaway Truck ramp several years ago,...after one poor fellow hit it in a fully loaded Peterbuilt at 90+ he went through the sand and gravel, up the 200 yard, 45 degree slope, slid off of the side and plunged 600 feet to his death. Any farmer or moron with a slide rule could have just LOOKED at the old ramp and said,.."nope, won't work"
