thanks. im not as familiar with the 360 as the 230 and need the tach to start off on the right foot. dealing with inital, mechanical and vacuum advance is a little harder too. my mongrel setup - 360 engine, stock vacuum dist with pertonix and edelbrock carb needs to be calibrated to work together. its running better each day, but i still get a mid throttle surge & bucking that leads me to believe that i have too much vacuum advance. i switched to ported vacuum and it helped a bit. i think i need to back off on timing a bit, set the proper idle rpm and adjust the lean / rich & ill have it. the 360 is awesome and the powersteering makes it sweet.
