That's a serious comment but it might not sound like it.

Command Cars are full of areas where you can tell if the body has been 'got at' by a body shop. Most body people tend to fill everything and get it completely flat to get a car-type finish which isn't right for a Command.

As an example look at the side of the Command Car above the running boards where the floor meets the sides, and look for the run of spot welds visible where the floor and the sides were welded together. I've seen precisely two Command Cars (mine was one of them)where this original factory line of spot welds hadn't been filled in and buffed down by over-enthusiastic restorers. There's also a pile of original factory bolting visible on Commands which is worth saving, and some restorers just bin it and fit new and you can see the differences in the head profiles instantly.

Getting a good shop who do the work right but leave original features like that alone would be the trick.
