Sorry, re 3-53 5-10% less efficient, heavy at 1000 lbs, 900 w/aluminum block (don't buy unless new). Most others weigh 550-750.
Transmissions are an entire another subject. Once again, a Japanese 3 ton 4L 4cyl intercooled diesel with 150HP@3300 rpm, 270ft-lb/torque, 6spd overdrive would be worth its' weight in something if in good condition and tranny short enough to work in a Power Wagon.
