I've seen in auto traders these cab-over 2-3 ton Izuzu's and Iveco's that say they have 4 banger diesels. Unless they are giant engines, could'nt they work. They would certainly be strong enough, I would think.
I guess 1 major problem would be matching/fitting the driveline components. I haven't measured one of these engines but I assume they won't bolt up to a PW tranny. Just a guess.
The Patrol engine was advertised as turbo charged, but a year was not listed.
I don't want to go to the trouble of fitting a normally-aspirated diesel. I've owned a non-turbo diesel and they are slugggggish!
I would appreciate any help you can offer.
