I too was at the Chicago Auto Show. I had read a few articles on the new PW concept, and was eager to see it. Personally, I found the look a bit disappointing, but as far as the technicals, here goes...

The powerplant is a modified Cat 3126 I-6 rated at 250ish HP and 780 lb/ft of torque. They are going to nedd SERIOUS drive line udgrades to handle that much power. The interior is leather (of course...Damn yuppies) and it has a drawer setup for storage that replaces the familiar centre console. It even has an electric tailgate!?! The price quoted by Dodge's PR dept was ~$40,000 when/if it goes into production. Release date when/if...is 2004 (I also heard 2002). The reason for the far off date is mainly the fuel. The juice it runs on is Synthdiesel made from nat. gas by a company in OK, I think. The reason for the new fuel is to meet very strict emmision standards. Personally, I would rather spend the 40 grand they ask to build my version of a Power Wagon, but thats another tyraid for another time. Hope that helped!

Ben
