There are many 4 speeds with synchro in 2nd, 3rd and 4th (T18, T19, T98, NP435, SM420, SM465) or 3rd and 4th (NP420). All you really need is one with a 7.5" input shaft (some of the Ford and early Dodge ones). You can change the clutch disk to match the splines, machine the pilot tip or change the pilot bushing, drill new holes in the bellhousing, mill out the center hole and change the driveshaft. sounds like a lot of work but easier than finding a more modern transmission that has the old bolt pattern.
With 4 speeds length is not a problem. the longest ones are 12", that leaves 3" to spare re jackshaft length.
