I owned one, ask yourself why they redesigned
the front fenders for 58'???(think hard)
If you've ever seen a 4-wheel 57(and I've seen
dozens and dozens of them) you will know exactly
why I think they're ugly, and you will figure
out why they redesigned the front end it after only 1 year.
Its not the production numbers that make a panel
rare, its the fact that dodge changed the front
fenders on 4 wheelers EVERY YEAR from 57-60
57 is different from 58 is different from 59 is different
from 60. They also changed the grills(this includes
single headlights on some 58 models)Do not pay
an additional fee because someone tells you a
57 is worth more, because when you get behind the
wheel and drive it down the road, and realise
that your new rattle trap 57 has about $3000
worth of sound deadening, squeek hunting, and door
banging noise that you need to fix to keep your
sanity, about $2000 worth of gear slop somewhere in the driveline that
needs to be fixed cus the noise it makes when you
take your foot off the gas at freeway speeds sounds like
a jackhammer going through the body. Dont forget
about the electrical system,weatherstripping,chrome
stripping and emblems that NO ONE RE-PRODUCES...
I've digressed(forgive me)57's are great if you like em..
but TRUST ME, they will probably not sell for any more
than a 58 59 or 60 in similiar cond. Sure I see
people asking alot, but guess what, a year later
they still havent sold their 57.....Remeber, I owned
and restored a 1957 town wagon power wagon v8,
I did everything from rebuilding the 315- to rebuilding
the gauge cluster, to locating ALL the chrome
for the front end etc.....I had everyone and there
mother tell me how "RARE" it was, but when it was time to sell..
No one wanted to pay big dollars for an Old four wheel drive
even a restored one like mine. Listen my friends,
Vintage Power wagons has a 57 pickup 4 wheel drive
for $5500...and it aint sellin, there sittin on it.
Money talks bulls**t walks,(if it has sold I stand
corrected, but last I heard, it aint movin)

Please let me know what you guys think about all this
Best regaurds Marc Minarik
