$50,000 might be outrageous, but maybe not as crazy as it sounds. Look at Land Rovers - $30k to $45k for a Defender90 with 30k miles, or $70k for a Defender110 (wagon). People are gladly paying these prices because you can't buy 'em new anymore. And they're notorious for constant, expensive upkeep and repairs.
What else is out there? New Dodge Ram 4x4s go for close to $30k, and even some of the new sport trucks are over $30k.
None of these have the character of a Power Wagon, even though they're blessed/cursed with new technology. You might be surprised what somebody would pay for your truck.
That said, $50,000 is still nuts...
