413's are available in numerous configurations,
413 Max wedge (two stages, 413 car (imperials and
N.Y'ers 300's,) 413 truck (several versions)413 motorhome
(available until @ 1977) and believe it or not,
a 413 flathead six. I had a '63 Imperial with a
350 HP 413. Fine engine on leaded gas. Dog on
88 octane unleaded. 413's are almost all leaded
gas burners and unless you want to swap to a
'73 and later open chamber unleaded head, you're
gonna have "head" aches. The earlier 413's were
@ 10:1 compressions and don't like 88 octane.
The early low profile (dipped in the middle)
intakes were not reeeeeeal efficient and take only
square bore carbs but the later 440 stuff is okay.
Some of the early exhausr manifolds suffer from the
same problem, low flow. There are also numerous heads avaialable and some,
like the truck and motorhome heads, don't
interchange, nor will the manifolds. Max wedge
heads are the same story. Aren't you glad you
asked?

The 360's a fine engine if properly prepped.
