As far as I know, the early 60's V-8 bellhousing is sort of a dodge universal type in that it has a lot of bolt and dowel-pin holes which from experience I have found will enable you to bolt a L-6,slant-6,poly-318,and even the LA-318.During my early years of gathering info and parts for a V-8 conversion(which I never did)I obtained a early 60's V-8 bellhousing from a junkyard D-100 w/318 and colume 3spd tranny.Iwas amazed at all the holes on the engine side and another set on the tranny side.A couple yrs later I was given a L-230 w/bellhousing & NP420 tranny from a 60' D-100 PU which I removed w/boomtruck as 1-unit.There it was the answer to all the holes,a L-230 bolted to aV-8 bellhousing w/NP420 tranny.Since that day I've seen slant-6 engines bolted to these same bellhousings. The secret to the LA-318 is you must use the old style starter for that housing. As far as the flywheel goes I could not say.Hope that helped.
