There is a good forum at the http://www.autobodystore.com site that will give you great advice for the process. Typically called color sanding with fine papers, finished off with buffing. They can tell you the process and which materials to use.
The latest thing is to use 3M finishing film. Good for taking out orange peel and to reduce the time needed for color sanding. Check out http://www.autobodystore.com/buffing_technique.htm
