check the points first...Thats my guess.

My jeep drove like a top all day long, during a parade, then all the way back home. Not a miss fire or studder or anything. Perfect.

TI park it overnight. I start it the next day, fired right up like always. Take it for a ride. About 2 miles from home,
out of the blue, it stopped. Dead stopped. Nothing.

Right as I was driving down the road. It was the points.

You can pull the distributor cap off and while someone else is cranking the motor, look at the points contacts opening and closing. If you dont see a spark, that could be it. Clean them first and see.

Points can be un-realiable like that at times.

Thats why I went to a Pertronix electronic istibutor conversion. No more point problems.

Let us know what the problem ends up being.

Good luck.
