Terry, I got this from a John Deere yahoo site:
Cornhead grease is what farmers use in the gearboxes on their cornheads. It comes in
tubes (part # AN102562) like regular grease and you can buy it from any Ag dealer, it's $2.32 a tube.
Cornhead grease is excellent for any gearbox application, we have put it in hundreds of things. It's especially good for bush hog gearboxes that leak the regular gear oil.
However, you do NOT want to mix it with gear
oil, get the old oil out first, then put the cornhead lube in. I will also tell you that as far as I know, none of the major oil companies can give you an exact match for it. I've given the specs to them and tried to
match it, but they could not.
