Many of you may have followed the great story of the LST 325 crossing the north atlantic (manned by former LST veterans). The 325 is now here in Evansville, IN. The ship has drawn between 2500 and 3000 people each day. Many former LST sailors and veterans have come from all over to tour the ship and to have reunions. Evansville was the location of a large LST shipyard which built approximately 50 ships between 1941 and 1945. Many Evansville women were employed as welders at the shipyard. IF anyone is interested in more info, just search on google. The 325 leaves here on the 22nd and heads for Jeffersonville, IN. I toured the ship today and it was neat. We are hoping to get the ship docked here permanently. Tour this ship if you can. Any support of the LST foundation would be appreciated. It's a worthy cause. We need to listen to the stories our WWII vets tell.
