OK real question, engine flex fans

Is there a real advantage to using an aftermarket flex fan? I have the stock 5 blade on the Townwagon's 318 and so far haven't had any overheating since I hopefully got all the crud flushed from the engine. I thought it might help with less drag on the engine to squeese a bit of gas mileage out of a replacement fan. TIA.
