This is a '46 WDX with a 1&1/2 ton '41 - '47 2WD cab and sheetmetal. (SN 83900062) The bed is from an Army 1&1/2 ton cargo trailer with the front portion shortened to suit the cab to rear axle dimension. Note the front fenders are larger than on the 1-ton and smaller 2WD's.

There was a shiny, black POWER WAGON with a 1/2-ton 2WD body at Fairfield several years ago. The 1/2-ton front fenders were too small for the PW proportions.

It is not unusual to see an early Dodge 4x4 chassis with non-original body parts. Take it out into the rough, roll it, replace the damage with parts from any old truck that's handy.

When we bought this, my son was collecting 2WD Dodges. We thought it was a Marmon conversion. It was only when we found the data plate they moved to the new cab (verified with the frame number) that we knew we had a POWER WAGON.

Now you know. I got started in POWER WAGONs through a case of mistaken identity.
