Ha! ha! THAT is what I was saying, the early VW, corvair and 151 only had a CV at the inboard end of the half shaft. The Hummer, and later VW, corvair and 151's had a CV at each end. That kept the wheel relatively verticle,..that a "safety chain" on the 151, but it really didin't help much. Remind me to tell you about my first trip in a Berlin traffic circle in a 151, just me and 2,000 Porches, Mercedes and BMW's ha!ha!
