It was common practice in the 40's and some of the 50's that any leftover cars/trucks from the current year were simply "retitled" as the new year. I restored a 1946 Ford Super Deluxe Coupe, it was obviously a 46 yet was titled as a 47. My inquiries about it led to the above statement.
