One of my friends here owns a Mopar wrecking yard, and ships fenders and other bulky parts all over the country almost every day. He just puts several layers of corrugated cardboard over the parts and wraps them with tape and clear plastic wrapping that looks like a roll of Saranwrap on steroids. Some of the parts, like fenders, are really weird shapes when done, but UPS ships them anyway.
