Joe, not new. I have been doing a lot of research about metal pre treatments. PickelX-20 has come to the front. I requested copies of the in depth reports, which I have. PickleX has been discussed on a Body Shop Boards in depth and everyone really likes the results. It is NOT a look alike for POR or Zero Rust. However, it will convert rust, mill scale, prevent new steel from rusting for long periods. One noticable thing is even when you blast a frame/body with Black Beauty, in places you will miss some rust in a little pit or whatever. This will handle that with ease.
You can NOT use a self etching primer over PickleX. This will destroy the PickleX. Using a epoxy primer is recommended. The address is www.picklex.com The product is NOT cheap. Shipped from the company its $80.83 per gallon including COD since they only use pay pal. US Government studies have shown new coated steel will weld cleaner and with better penetration. One gallon will treat 1600 sq ft. Picklex-20 is for application under paint. Picklex-6 is for use under Powder COatings with machine application
