Some are DOT rated. some are not. The DOT spec is mostly only important on trucks run through scales. They work a WHOLE lot better if you diagonally sipe all the tread blocks/bars. I use the throw-away razor knives to cut v-grooves in the center ribs then sipe the rest. Just don't cut too deep
