Real cheap to have done as well. I just took in every bolt for my transmission, transfercase, PTO, front end, rear end, winch & every other spare P/W bolt I have. The total cost which is done by weight was under the minimum charge of $100 Canadian.
Ever bolt on my trans & transfer case including the mounting brackets for the transfer case were originally Bronze Cad Plated on my 47 WDX. I suspect the majority of the bolts were then oversprayed with silver.
Never had a problem with any cad becoming brittle, in fact I even have my brake springs done & have never had one fail.
