Well I don't think it's cheap gas. All of the old cars we have are running 100 octane avaiation gas,has lead and does not go bad like modern premium unleaded. I like the timing idea I am going to check it when I get the chance. I adjusted the carburator so she's not running rich, could be carbon build up, (We've been having valves sticking open on a 1917 Hupmobile touring car, solved that problem by adding Marvel Mystry oil to gas to lubricate the valves). It's not a loud deep clatter like the bearings or something like that, it's more of a pinging and the clattering ain't always there. Last night I drove her home and she ran just fine, but when I drove her back to our shop this morning it started again just before I pulled in the driveway. I'll keep you guys up dated. I end up working on Satudays during the summers so I don't get much time to work on the projects as I would like.
