I am fighting this on my 69 Charger. I tried water and it didnt do a thing. I have been using Sea Foam instead of water and it has worked great. I put it in the tank and will slowly dump the sea foam down the carb and after a few minutes of that I will dump enough to flood it out and kill it. Let it sit 5 minutes and fire it back up. That allows everything to be coated and soak. I have been real happy with the sea foam. And smoke!!!! Man I didnt think a gas engine could smoke like that!
