Pull your pan as suggested and clean it, then use 15-50 Mobile 1. It's very high detergent. Put a new filter in ever 1000 miles, and change the oil at 5000. Do this until the engine oil is black without brown varnish sludge. This is the safest method to clean a dirty engine.
