I will not state "you have no clue" as that is an inappropriate and I believe it is on the verge of being a personal attack type of response.

1) Of course their is NO argument that my 2002 will protect me better that an old FF. Air bags, crumple zone, EAUs, etc.. If, however, one simply considers weight - the heavier vehicle (and it's occupents) will always "feel" less of an impact - and I know that you know this. Of course you know this - right? In case you have not noticed - I agree with you. Modern vehicles are safer. Period.

2) I doubt that the Ram in this case is substantially heavier and would say that the Hummer hit other objects in addition to the Ram.

3) Pour your physics on me now. I want to see you recite the most fundamental laws of physics as they apply to a collision - such that I know that you have enough knowledge to say that someone else has "no clue". Would you rather get hit with a foam bat or a lead filled bat? You of course would select the foam. I know a bus driver who hit a Taurus (tail swing) and spun it around. He never knew that he had just totaled the Taurus. The bus bent it's rear bumper.

Bricks and Beer Cans have Everything to do with accidents! Of course you agree.

Sometimes the conditions can be such that even the older vehicle without a crumple zone, etc.. will be better off than the newer vehicle. I agree that usually the newer vehicle is better off. But not in the case where a Ford Bronco hit a Cement Truck head on - in this case the Cement truck driver finished his route.
