I've bought 3 from the DRMO at Ft Lewis, before they gave the sales to "Government Liquidation" (owned by a French company, by the way) and my average cost was about $2000, but they were all on the "dead line", had to be push started and driven home w/o electrics, which means no gages or lights. Basically it was a crap shoot and I got real lucky. Even so there were plenty of small problems.

Out here (Ft Lewis, Fairchild, Mt Home AFB, etc) any deuce they offer is going for $3K these days, even with poor rubber, a rag top, and no winch. Maybe back east where they're selling more of them the price is lower. If I could pick up a deuce with good rubber, low-miles engine, decent body, and a winch for $3K I'd be handing him cash yesterday.
