OT.......Dodge 2500 Rear Axle

There is what looks like a nut on a stud/or bolt the protrudes from the top of the leaf spring centered on top of the rear axle of my 2000 2500 4X4. It is broken off on the left side and the axle has slid back about an inch on the left. This makes the truck crab along nicely. Can someone tell me what that nut is attached to. I need to take it apart and fix it before I wear out the tires.
