Norm, I have to mostly agree with you. It's a very strange economy. I hear a lot of gloom around Everett, after the tech crash of last year, and now everybody saying Boeing is leaving, but most of the cars on the road are brand new and the malls are full of people throwing plastic around. On the other hand, friends of mine have been trying to sell their house here for a long time, have come way down in price, and still no offers. There are lots more houses for sale, but of course not like the "Boeing depression" of the early 1970s yet, or like when Weyerhaeuser shut down.

I tend to be more cautious than most, pay cash for everything, live real cheap if I'm not working, even if I have savings in the bank, etc. I don't know if next year will be way better, but I wouldn't do anything different if I knew. I'll just wait till next year to find out. There's still some people that have plenty of money, that's for sure. I'm sorry one of them didn't buy Mark's truck. They could pay 3 times that for a new Dodge and it would look just like everybody's new Dodge and when the computer went on the fritz they'd be stuck.
