Bed question revisited

Howdy,howdy,howdy.Just got back from a vacation and missed the reply to my bed question(s)on the last forum in time to respond. I read the response but found it did not answer my question(s).
I want to know, What is the difference(s) between the 1st,2nd, and 3rd series beds. Which series has the flat panel sides with no
stamped corrugation in them? What years were these type beds used. Thanks,RD
