1st of all, standard bodystyle trucks had a 7 1/2' bed pre 1965 1/2. The 8' stepside bed was used starting 1965 1/2 on up, ending somewhere around 1985.
I have taken a 1966ish 8' bed off of a regular pickup and laid it up against a FF, it looked right, without modification of length.
All FFs are 126" WB, and they all have the same cabs, fenders, etc in the front (the change to the longer motor only moved the grill forward, not much else), this makes all the beds 8' long, and you should be able to use any bed on any truck (I have seen several beds of different series on trucks of other series, they all looked fine for fit).
Of course some of the crossmember structure may be wrong, but the basic bed is the right size.
