i think it is more about frequent changes (oil & filter) than syn oils
used Shell RotillaT in our corvettes years ago (neighbor was research chemist for shell)
i would imangine chevron delo is about the same (high quality diesel service oil)
have used unicol 20w50 in my little MR2 for 350,000 + miles changed with filter (only used genuine toyota filters) every 3,000 mi
engine never opened (other than front for timing belt, new water pumps, hoses, belts every 100k)
