Planning to put a set of overload springs on my truck, and have a question. I found a set in the junkyard yesterday that will fit my truck, but are they missing something? The ends of the springs do not attach to the regular spring pack, and for lack of better terminology are just free-floating in the air. They attach to the regular springs by U-bolts in the center, however this is all? When I inquired about purchasing new ones at the shop they said the ends bolted to the regular spring pack as well, so that the overloads flex normally with the complete spring pack. The price is certainly right from the junkyard, and the springs are in great shape, but do I need a set that has ends which bolt to the normal springs? Sorry for being long winded. Thanks for any enlightenment you can give me.
