Well how is the engine running? My 69 Charger I bought last September has 224500 miles on it. The lifters rattle a little upon start up in the mornings. I think they are wore and bleed down over night. The push rods should be ok as long as they arent bent.
Might think about replacing the lifters, timing chain and gear set. Valve seals might be something to think about. I redid my seals from the 69 and there were only 2 complete seals left. The rest were gone or in pieces.
If things are really bad having the heads completely redone might not be a bad idea. New guides and seals and seats.
The old 318's are tough and bounce back pretty good with some heavy maintainence. My high mileage 318 is running very nice now. Its leaking oil thru old gaskets. Which is something you should replace as long as you have things tore down.
