The lights burn much brighter and it they start better. and the 6 colt generator is perfectly capable of producing 9.2 volts according to my generater man whose family buisness has been rebuilding starters and generaters on all types of vehicles in Ft Worth Texas since 1928. They make a small adjustment on the generater and the points in the voltage regulator. I have been running my 46 this way since 6 months after I got it and drive it a lot at night with brighter headlights battery life has been the same as the 6 volts the 8 volts have been cheaper to buy 49.00 at Tractor supply company 67.00 at NAPA The down side is you will get to replace any tired bulbs any questions feel free to call me at 817 937-6580. I will never leave another one 6 volt.
