... on my old '62 Chevy K25 (That's right "K25"... said it right on the title) 1-ton 4X4. The original front axle was a Dana 44 ball-type closed knuckle. I replaced the whole axle with a Dana 44 open knuckle with disk brakes from a '79 GMC and kept the 4:54's. I was able to switch over the old original lockout hubs for an original appearance. Does this mean that Don's hubs will fit any Dana 44??? I can't say for sure, but those hubs took a lot of hard use and never failed. The knobs were hard to turn both engageing and disengageing. I kept a pair of padded pliers behind the seat just for that purpose. Sure do miss that truck with its Rockwell transfer case & Eaton rear axle. Lots of good times, great stories, and tankfuls of minimum wage! The only thing about selling it that I DON'T regret is that if I still had it, I probably would not have bought my '53 B4! Go for the hubs for that original early '60's look! Bruce
