I found a Hobart welder/ generator driven by a industrial 230 today. It's big. 8 feet long at least. I'm guessing 600 amp or so. It's got all the sheetmetal around it, just missing the leads.
Anyone know anything about these rigs?
It has to be from the late 40's or 50's. The sheetmetal surrounding it is painted the seawolf submarine green. It runs, I dont know if it welds, but everything looks to be in good shape. Big porcelan dials on it look really cool. The fellow wants to sell it, what should I offer? What are they worth? $500? Sure would look neat sitting on a nice flatbed on the back of a WDX Power Wagon huh?
I'd like to make an offer, but I know if I go too low I'll offend the seller and it will all be off. He's kind of a crochety old buzzard!
