Well Oscar it looks like you pulled most of the jokers out of the woodwork, except the Drivel King, ...uh wait that's me. For starters your getting grief because of the scarcity of good useable PW WDX and WM300 parts. but susposing that you had a supply of good sheet metal, there is no reason, except for purity, that you couldn't install a 318 Poly, later model Dodge Dana 60 axles with disc brakes and 4.11 gearing, power steering, possibly a 727 trans with a married NP205 transfer case and Vintage Air. That's how I would do it,...if I was going to stray from stock. The last thing I would do is put it on a ferd running gear, what's the point? Except for pushing one over a cliff a ferd can't safely go 80 either ha!ha! A modern chassis and running gear won't work that well without a lot of frame fabrication and welding to get the wheelbase correct. There is nothing wrong with the PW frame, but the steering and suspension were not made for speed, but they can be easily changed if you have the mechanical skills.
