If you're worried about chain marks or damage to your truck from the chains, next time use 4 - 3" straps. I use 4, 3" rachet straps placed on the axles, "'X'ing" them as Doug mentioned. Each strap is rated at around 120,000 lbs. The trick is to lower your tire air pressure and then tighten the straps as tight as you can rachet them, then air up your tires, the truck will go nowhere. WickEd and I brought a Sweptline down from near Truckee to Riverside, it never moved inspite of the worn and wasted state of CA hiways. Chains are for "loads" and equipment like Doug hauls, straps are for "trailer queens" like yours ha!ha!
