Well my 51 B-3 is a 23k truck and we got it started last night and I drove it today. We meaning my wife and I. She's a PW lover.. And she's a mechanic lover as well. She's my girl!!!! Y'all should have seen her the first time she got in the cab. She came crawling out saying wow that windshield is very small, (and short) I hope our faces line up with the windshield when the new seat is installed. I just kinda chuckled at her.
I installed a new coil and cleaned and reset the points covered up some bare wires, installed a new fuel pump. I put five gallons of gas in it and then draind it out and re filled with new gas. Poured a little oil down each cyl. and turned it over by hand and let it sit over night. Next day turned it over with the starter and poured gas with a little cup until the pump pulled enough up and she fired off and I was able to keep it running by hand. smoked us out but, gradually the smoke dissipated. And then today I drained the tranny and filled the other gear boxes. Then I drove it around the yard. Guages all worked except the fuel guage. speedometer worked and trans and T/C seemed to work just fine.
Today was the best day I ever had playing hooky from work...........
I still need to find a set of spark plug wires. Anyone know where to get a good close to original looking set?
