oil pressure is pretty much dependent upon bearing clearances. Some synthetic oil will thin less when it warms, synth also flows more easily when its cool. If an oil pump is worn out the bearings are usually worn. The pump has a pressure relief spring which regulates the pressure so that it doesn't produce too much pressure at high speeds than is needed(which would wear the camshaft gear).

I believe a large capacity pump with a relatively low pressure relief spring might give a more constant oil pressure.
