I found a 291 hemi with a truck bellhousing, pp, clutch, and flywheel.The engine is complete from fan to bell, and has all the accessories. It's a '55 S22- Firedome. It supposedly runs, but the 2bbl stromberg carb on it looks like a pieco of crap. Maby a 2bb webber would be the ticket? Anyways, I bought it because the price was right, and I've seen the same set up (only it was a 276ci) installed in a '48 B1 P-W. I had the oppurtunity to buy that B-1 a few years back for $2500, and have always kicked myself for not getting it. The motor went in very clean and was just the right size for the engine compartment. Might make a nice project if I ever find a parts truck without a motor (like the one I just sold to Chris Mckovich last week! Damn!)
Anyone have any expirence with the "low deck" hemi's?
