This is not south Africa for one thing and for better or worse this is one of the freedoms we enjoy as Americans, the right to censor our own stuff (like forums).
For whatever reason Joe decides to remove comments from the forum,he is free to do so without having to answer to anyone about it. He created the website and is lord and master over it. If he so chooses to remove/delete any comments he feels might upset the balance of goodwill among the PW community, he will do what he feels is best, not what seems fair to anyone else.
I suggest sticking to PW related comments, even though other issues are brought up, sometimes they are not suited (in Joe's eyes ) for the forum. You are not the first to complain about having their messages deleted and certainly won't be the last.
This is a goodwilled bunch but don't get them stirred up like hornets on political issues. This is supposed to be a fun place, not a political forum.
We have a saying in the south when our kids ask "why", Because I said so,thats why!
