I just got a tune up on my 2001 ram 1500 offrd pck auto trans. When the shop changed the tranny oil they said it had been burned and to look for tranny problems in the future. When this trans goes out I want to ditch it for a much heavier one. I want something that will hold up to my abuse and take maybe 44" tires in the future. My first thought was to put what they put in the 3500 rams. What trans is this? Can I make it fit is it a direct bolt? Are there any other trans out there that would be better? I need some help.
