an old timer. My Dad said when he was going on a trip in the old days in a Model T Ferd they would take along the following: axe, rope, kerosene lantern, tools, spare spark coil, transmission bands, several tires & tubes, tire irons, air pump, tube patch kit, log chain, single tree, buck saw, blankets (no heater), and a few other things I forgot about. All the roads were dirt with deep ruts. (No motor graders back then!) My grand dad was a MD & Dad drove the T for him. He once relined the transmission bands under a shade tree while grand dad delivered a baby! Finished just as the baby started crying! House calls were standard practice in those days! I guess thats why Dad bought a Power-Wagon in 1948 so he didn't have to haul so much "equipment".
