He states that he is a "retired charter captain". Then he puts "USCG" after his name. That does not make him a USCG retired captain, NECESSARILY.
The bars are full of "captains" around my neck of the woods. Anyone with a commercial fishing license is one. And most of them like to use the title even if they are the worst sailor around.
I enjoy a little BS mitigation, now and again, don't you? I will be checking with my Pentagon friends and get back to you with his record, if you would like to know the truth about him.
