Dave:

Those are good stout axles. Chances are they are a Dana 44HD front, and the 14 bolt Eaton in rear. The front is comparable in streighth to the Dana 44 in the W-200 BUT the 14 bolt Eaton rear is stronger than the Dana 60 rear used in the W-200. There is a slight chance that the front axle may be a 14 bolt Eaton as well. Very Very few Chev-GMC heavy 3/4 tons and special order 1 tons had the Eaton front. You can tell the Eaton from the Dana because it has the Pull out "Pig" and has a removable differential cover. Both front axles are closed nuckle with drum brakes. GM did not start using open knucles on 3/4 ton till around 70-71 in that era. Chances are, the GMC axles have 4.56 gears. That was the standard ratio availble for 67-72. They would be a good higher ratio for a FFPW. Alot of Dana 44 front parts will work on the W-200 as well. If you can snag them axles cheap, do it. If they were closer to Michigan, I have a freind who would love to have them.

Good luck!
