This request is directed to San Francisco Bay Area forum members. I would really appreciate information on vehicle storage sites in the eight (8) county San Francisco Bay Area (i.e., Alameda, Contra Costa, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Sonoma, Solano, and Marin). I don't mean to offend any of you MML stalwarts in Napa, Santa Cruz, and other adjacent areas, it's just a question of practicality. I live in San Francisco and work in San Bruno, and the "motorhead" nephew lives in Santa Venetia (near the Marin County Civic Center) and works in Santa Rosa. The "project" (a 1960 W100 Town Wagon) needs a place to "hang out" for a bit. Anyone out there know of a "reasonably priced" storage yard or other such facility. It does not have to be sheltered, but reasonable security is required. Ideally, a platoon of Infantry (with trip flares, command-detonated Claymores, and M-60s with interlocking fields-of-fire) would be desirable, however, a chain-link fence and a couple of "hungry" Rottweilers would probably do the trick. I spoke with an RV storage facility manager in South San Francisco, and he told me that everything is driven by real estate values. The further away from San Francisco, the cheaper the rates. His lot has a vacancy coming open next week, but it's $80/month. That's a bit more than this project is worth (to me).
