It would be a 1/2 ton W100.
Starting serial # is 82901001 for '57 W100 with V-8. Engine should be 315 V8. It would have a steel galley cover visable inder the intake manifold. W100's came in 108" or 116" wheel base. 205 were made with the shorter and V8, 407 were made with V8 and longer wb. The trucks # would be #340 W100 off the line.
I have seen truck with serial # plate near radiator support, in glove box, or most commonly, removed. Sounds like a heck of a truck. I would love to have a photo.
